Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing diseases in Ireland. The Diabetic Federation of Ireland estimate there are over 200,000 diabetics in Ireland and that over half of these have no idea they have diabetes. On completion of this module, the reader should have an enhanced understanding of the types of diabetes, risk factors, and appropriate foods, as well as pharmacological treatment options.
