Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common form of arrhythmia, of which there are several. An arrhythmia can manifest itself as the heart rate being too quick, too slow, or irregular. On completion of this module, the reader should have an enhanced understanding of different types of arrhythmias, in particular AF, and be familiar with the diagnostic methods, drugs, and procedures that can be used to treat the disorder. Variations between the latest evidence and current guideline recommendations are also discussed in the module.
